Good Surgery does not come cheaply. The Cambridge Private Hospital sets very high standards and it takes years of experience and costs thousands of pounds to train Surgeons to the level required. Logically such skills and expertise are not available at bargain cut price rates. We look to provide high standards of treatment and patient care while keeping fees fair, reasonable and economical for both patient and Surgeon. Our fees as stated at consultation show the total cost. There are no hidden extra charges to be added. The figures include all the Surgeons and Anesthetic fees, the clinical facilities, and nursing care, drugs, medication and dressings, and two post operative consultations.

Costs and therefore fees payable would only change if a longer stay in the hospital is decided upon, or if an individuals medical history indicates additional specialist treatment is required. In the case that an individual was interested in more than one procedure, a new individual reduced price "package" would be prepared for the combined treatments required after consultation.

If you decide, after the consultation, to go ahead with treatment:

  • When you book your surgery, a Booking Fee is payable of £250 to guarantee your bed.
  • The full expected cost of your surgery (less the booking fee) is payable 10 days in advance of admission, if paying by a personal cheque, or on arrival on the day of admission, if by bankers draft, credit card or cash.
  • Many independent Finance Companies offer loans for Cosmetic Surgery, to enable you to go ahead with treatment and spread the cost over a period of time.

Is cosmetic surgery the right choice for you? Appearances do count in this world, and it ca be a sensible and healthy decision to try to improve a problem that is bothering us, or is hampering our lives in some way. However if you are considering cosmetic surgery it is vital to first examine your reasons carefully.

Firstly, it is important that you are having cosmetic surgery for yourself, and not just to please someone else. Secondly, are you expectations of what can be achieved realistic? A surgeon can give you a new nose or improve your bust or whatever and thus help you make the most of yourself. He cannot perform miracles or automatically resolve major life problems for you, for instance ensure you get that job as a model with your new nose or bring back a straying wife or husband after a facelift. However most people find their operation will have life enhancing effects in addition to an improved physical appearance in the form of greater confidence and self-esteem which in turn helps them to cope more successfully with life's challenges.

Surgeons may refuse to operate on someone who has unrealistic expectations so think through what you expect carefully. A healthy psychological approach to cosmetic surgery is very important. Also are you realistic in understanding that each patient and each case id different and unique and thus information contained on this web site can only be a guide. For instance, some people have a high pain threshold while others experience a lot of discomfort more readily. Some people take a longer time to heal that others, some skins scar more readily that others and so on.

One needs to be well informed about any proposed surgery, but equally, sensible and realistic about the things one cannot know the answers in advance. A Surgeon, like any artist, can only work with materials available and there are obvious limiting factors in every case, such as age, elasticity and texture of the skin, the underlying bone and tissue structure, and a persons state of health.

"Beauty is the eye of the beholder" (quote)

This web site has been prepared to give a basic understanding of the procedure before a consultation takes place, and to cover many of the questions frequently asked about this type of cosmetic surgery. Final decisions should not be made until an individual assessment has taken place with the surgeon. There is no obligation on the part of the patient to undergo surgery by attending for consultation. If you have any further questions or would like to arrange a consultation please do not hesitate to call us.
